Rams News: Elite Alabama Star Visits Los Angeles Prior To Draft

The Los Angeles Rams have reportedly held a pre-draft visit with former Alabama running back Jase McClellan. The Rams are one of nine total teams McClellan has reportedly visited before the 2024 NFL Draft, along with the Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings, via KPRC2's Aaron Wilson.

The 5-foot-10 running back was a key part of the Crimson Tide's offense during Nick Saban's swan song season in 2023. After a torn ACL derailed his career as an underclassman, McClellan came through with 655 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in 2022, before recording 803 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 2023. In total, McClellan finished his collegiate career with 341 carries for 1,894 rushing yards, and 16 touchdowns while averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He also caught 38 passes for 398 yards and six touchdowns out of the backfield.

The Rams already found a strong rushing attack in 2023 behind Kyren Williams. Williams emerged as the team's lead back, rushing for 1,144 yards over just 12 games and averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He even had a 100-yard rushing game in half of the games he played. The Rams ranked the highest in the NFL in rushing since Matthew Stafford arrived in 2021, averaging 120.3 yards per game.

Despite this, the Rams could certainly look to add another running back draft. While Williams excelled last year, he did miss four games, making depth at the position important. If McClellan made a good impression on Los Angeles, they could certainly pick him up during the later rounds of the draft.
