Rams News: LA Flying To Visit Big Ten Pass Rusher, Possible First Round Pick

The Los Angeles Rams reportedly visited star Penn State defensive end Demeioun "Chop" Robinson for a private visit on Tuesday.

The Rams allegedly flew out to Happy Valley to discuss playing at the next level with the projected first round draft pick.

Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported the news via X.

The star Penn State edge rusher had a solid season in 2023. Robinson recorded 15 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defended in 10 games.

The Rams hold the No. 19 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

The 21-year-old will also meet with the Washington Commanders on Wednesday. The Commanders hold the No. 2, No. 36 and No. 40 overall picks.

Although the stats don't pop off the page for Robinson, NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein had some high prices for the edge rusher. Zierlein compared him to former Nittany Lion and Cowboy star edge rusher Micah Parsons.

"Edge defender who offers the type of elite athleticism we've seen from players like Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett. Robinson might not be as fast as Parsons, but he's close," Zierlein wrote. "He's ultra-twitchy with the explosiveness to get on top of blockers and overwhelm them in an instant. However, he will need to level up his hand skills and attack angles to reach his potential against NFL tackles. Robinson's electric athletic traits alone should give him a floor as a good NFL starter. If he crafts a rush approach and learns to string moves/counters together, he could reach his ceiling as a destructive force capable of forcing teams to game plan around him."

"Clearly, the Rams need to replace possibly the greatest defender of all time, Aaron Donald," Zierlein allowed. "It won't be easy, but if the Rams could collect one or two edge rushers and Kobie Turner and Byron Young get better, that could be enough to replace Donald."

Robinson could be a step in the right direction for LA.
