Rams News: Los Angeles' Spring Training Kicks Off This Week

The 2024 NFL draft is a week away, and the Los Angeles Rams have an opportunity to choose a first-round pick for the first time in years. Although signs point to LA trading down and possibly out of the first round, it's still exciting that this team has such a foundation to work with now.

However, after all the players are picked and the melancholy is over and done with, it's time to get back to work. The incoming rookies will be tasked with getting into shape and showing they can continue at a high level with a playoff team. There's much to keep track of regarding spring workouts, but don't worry—we've got you covered.

The squad's opening day was April 15. Phase one, which lasts for the first two weeks of team programs, consists of workouts limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation.

OTA workouts will commence on May 20, and they will continue from May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31, and June 3-6. Teams must conduct a total of ten days of organized team practice activity, aka OTA's.

A week after OTAs are over, there is a mandatory minicamp from June 10-12. This is phase three, as teams are allowed one mandatory minicamp for veterans, and these workshops must be held within the four-week OTA period.

Following that comes the Rookie Development Program. The Rams may hold a seven-week rookie development program, which is expected to start on May 13. This will begin shortly after the draft, and Rams fans will get to know their upcoming rookies well. It's an exciting time on the NFL calendar, and we can't wait to see all three days of the NFL draft next week.
