Report: Los Angeles Rams To Hold Joint Practices With Houston Texans

The Los Angeles Rams will get a sneak preview of one of their first preseason opponents.

The NFL has yet to officially announce any preseason matchups, but it appears the Los Angeles Rams had one of their opponents leak a bit early.

According to Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston.com, the Houston Texans will host joint practices with the Rams this summer. As is always the case with joint practices, that also means that the two teams will play each other in the preseason.

Despite playing over 1,500 miles apart from each other, the Rams and Texans match up in the preseason quite frequently as they've met in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Their last regular season meeting came in 2021, a 38-22 road win for Los Angeles, and the two teams will meet again in 2025.

Notably, these joint practices will feature some of the top rookies from this past season. Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. won Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, respectively, while Rams receiver Puka Nacua and defensive tackle Kobie Turner were finalists for those same awards.

Last summer, the Rams held joint practices with both the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos. There's no word yet on if the Rams will practice wih a second team this summer, but the coming months should provide more clarity on that front.

Assuming Wilson's report is indeed correct, that leaves two unknown preseason opponents for the Rams.
