Rams Raheem Morris To Complete Four Head Coach Interviews This Weekend

Raheem Morris is set to complete four interviews for vacant head coaching positions on Friday and Saturday

Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris is quickly becoming one of the hottest names in head coaching circles around the National Football League, adding more teams of interest to his growing list this week.

Now, he is taking the next step.

According to reports, Morris is set to complete interviews with four teams over the next two days. The Seahawks and Commanders will be up first on Friday.

Seattle was opened with the departure of Pete Carroll earlier this month. Carroll was the Seattle head coach for 14 seasons, so it has been a long time since the Seahawks were searching for a new headman. The Commanders also elected to move on from Ron Rivera after four seasons and a 26-40 record.

On Saturday, Morris is scheduled to complete his the other two interviews with the Chargers and Falcons.

Morris has a previous connection with Atlanta, serving as the interim head coach after the firing of Dan Quinn. He had been with the franchise for six seasons, serving as an assistant from 2015-2019, and the defensive coordinator in 2020 before being named the interim coach.

This wasn't Morris' banner season as a defensive coordinator in L.A., seeing the Rams finish 20th in yards allowed and 19th in points allowed on defense, despite a magical midseason turnaround on the gridiron.

The Carolina Panthers have also requested an interview with Morris. The Panthers finished the season with a record of 2-15, just a year removed from holding the first overall pick and selecting quarterback Bryce Young of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
