Los Angeles Rams Schedule Interviews With Two Current Assistant Coaches

As the Los Angeles Rams look to replace former defensive coordinator and now new Atlanta Falcons coach Raheem Morris, they will be interviewing candidates from their current staff.

The Los Angeles Rams continue their search for a new defensive coordinator after the Atlanta Falcons hired Raheem Morris as their next coach.

Despite being very early in the process, as it has been just four days since Morris was named as the Falcons' coach, the Rams have already scheduled interviews with several candidates. That list includes two former head coaches, Brandon Staley and Ron Rivera

However, the Rams won't only be looking at external options, but they are also set to interview coaches already on staff. According to a report from Jourdan Rodrigue, the Rams will interview current defensive back coach Aubrey Pleasant and inside linebacker coach Chris Shula.

Shula, the 37-year-old, whose current title also includes being the pass rush coordinator, has been with the Rams since 2017, where he first served as the assistant linebackers coach.

Since then, he has risen up the ranks on the coaching staff and now finds himself as a candidate to take over a Rams defense that, while it may not be as talented as they were a few years ago, showed progress last season.

On the other hand, Pleasant rejoined the Rams' coaching staff last offseason after a three-year stint in L.A. from 2017-20, where he served as the cornerbacks coach.
