Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston posted a video tribute to bid farewell to the Saints, Who Dat Nation, and the City of New Orleans.  Winston signed a free agent contract with Cleveland to compete for the backup role behind starter Deshaun Watson.

His deal with the Browns is for one year with a base compensation of $4M guaranteed, a $2.7M signing bonus, plus incentives for a max value of $8.7M, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

In his farewell video, Winston read:

NOLA, The Superdome is the birthplace of my first NFL win. So saying farewell, I don't know where to begin.

I'll start with expressing gratitude and thanks to all of Who Dat Nation, the Saints organization, and especially Mrs. B.

I am grateful for all my teammates, coaches, trainers, the entire Saints support staff, and, honestly, the whole city.

I am grateful for the festivals, Mardi Gras, second lines, great music, world class chefs, and witnessing the NOLA culture shine!

I'm grateful for the love, encouragement, perseverance, and real people who embraced this little light of mine.

I love you New Orleans, through and through.

Trust and believe that y'all haven't seen the last of Jaboo.

Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston, 30, is a beloved player by most fans and considered a great teammate.  In an interview with the Saints News Network, he explained that there was "no clear picture" of becoming a starting quarterback with the New Orleans Saints.

He told Fox 8 reporter Sean Fazende, that his move to Cleveland was "the best situation for me for where I want to go, for my next step."  After four years in New Orleans, Winston will take the city he "loved" and called "home."
