Eagles Trade Former Steelers DB
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Terrell Edmunds is on the move after being traded by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport.
Edmunds was included in a package the Eagles are sending the Tennessee Titans in exchange for All-Pro safety Kevin Byard. Philadelphia is also including a fifth and sixth-round pick in the package to Tennessee.
Edmunds signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Eagles this offseason after not re-signing with the Steelers. The former first-round pick started two games for Philly this season, recording 28 tackles and forcing a fumble in seven total appearances.
The 26-year-old spent his first five seasons in Pittsburgh, starting 75 of his 79 games and recording 410 tackles, five sacks, 26 pass deflections and five interceptions.
Byard, 30, is a two-time All-Pro who's started 111 games for the Titans throughout his career. He brings 27 career interceptions to Philadelphia, including nine in the last two seasons.
