Report: Steelers Showing 'A Lot of Interest' in Louisville Slot CB Kei’Trel Clark

The Pittsburgh Steelers could have a slot option on their mind.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have their eyes on another cornerback option, this time coming out of Louisville, who can play inside within their defensive backfield.

According to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline, the Steelers are showing "a lot of interest" in Louisville cornerback Kei’Trel Clark.

"The senior was outstanding during three days of Shrine Bowl practice and then was listed as one of my Combine winners from Saturday’s workout. Clark sat on his numbers from Indianapolis and looked terrific in position drills, which many consider the strength of his game," Pauline writes.

"Clark is a natural slot corner, and while I have him graded as a fourth-round prospect, there’s a feeling he may sneak into the back end of Round 3. The 49ers, Bengals, Steelers, and Cardinals are showing a lot of interest in Clark."

Clark is a 5-foot-10 corner who ran a 4.42 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. In his final year at Louisville, he recorded 51 tackles, a pick-six and a sack.

The Steelers haven't mentioned slot cornerback much this offseason but likely have the position on their list when evaluating draft prospects. As of now, they have Arthur Maulet available for the position, with Patrick Peterson possibly filling the role as well.
