Report: Steelers Playoff Game Could Be Postponed Second Time

The Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card game is in danger of being moved a second time.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills has been postponed a day due to inclement weather, pushing it back from Sunday afternoon to Monday. But with Orchard Park dealing with lake effect snow and dangerous winds, the NFL could move it a second time, according to The Athletic.

The report claims Tuesday is "still a potential option to play this game, according to one league and one government source."

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the game would move to Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET because of weather coming in toward the city. There is a travel restriction beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday night, and with dangerous travel conditions over the next 24-48 hours, the Steelers, Bills, NFL and Hochul decided to postpone the game.

Monday's forecast in Buffalo is a high of 21 degrees with strong winds and one to three inches of lake-effect snow, according to AccuWeather. If travel is still considered too dangerous, the game could be pushed back another day.

It's unknown if the move would force changes to the Divisional round of the playoffs. If the Steelers win, they would travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens.

At the time of the postponement, the Steelers have not left Pittsburgh. The team is scheduled to leave for Buffalo on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, according to The Athletic.
