PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers still haven't found a replacement for Diontae Johnson, and if no trade happens, they could look at the NFL Draft.

One name who has emerged as a possibility is LSU star Brian Thomas. After meeting with the 21-year-old at the NFL Combine, Thomas has emerged as a first-round candidate for the Steelers, and already, is drawing comparisons to one of their own.

Former NFL general manager Rick Spielman said on the 33rd Team that Thomas has similarities to George Pickens and could create the same splash working on the opposite side.

"Everybody knows his partner Malik Nabers, but this is an underrated big-play threat down the field. He improved as the season went along," Spielman said.

In three seasons with the Tigers, Thomas caught 127 passes for 1,897 yards and 24 touchdowns. His breakout year came as a senior, recording 1,177 yards and 24 touchdowns. Pickens broke onto the scene as a rookie with 801 yards and took a step forward, securing his role as the No. 1 with 1,140 yards and five touchdowns.

As of now, the Steelers' wide receiver room includes just Pickens, Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson as the expected 53-man roster candidates. They've been linked to a trade with San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk, and could make a move during the draft. If not, look for Thomas as a final piece to Pittsburgh's depth chart.
