NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Titans are drafting a quarterback. No, wait, they're taking a left tackle. No, they are all in on a receiver. Wait, that's not right, they're definitely drafting an edge because my third cousin twice removed lives next door to Billy Bubba, and Billy knows the guy who mows the grass at Ran Carthons' house, and Ran told him they were going......

And so it continues, the rumor mill that has become the wheel of frustration for fans of the Titans as they try to keep up with the latest news on what their favorite team will do later this month when they go on the clock at No. 3, no wait, No.2, oh hold up, it's No.11, at least for now.

There's a reason why people call it the silly season and why I've referred to it as such multiple times. Everyone has a source, some much more solid than others, but still, they know what's going on in the minds of Carthon and the rest of the Titans staff inside St. Thomas Sports Park.

While there is a chance that one or two of the rumors could be true, there is no possibility that all the spaghetti thrown on the jumbotrons at Nissan Stadium will stick.

Let's face it; teams start rumors. Some are about players or other teams; sometimes (cough), they even start them about themselves.

I know what my sources are saying, but other media members' sources are telling different stories. Is that by some random fluke or a more devious design?

Did some other team decide to leak the most recent rumor that has blown up our All Titans Twitter page (@AllTitansSIFN) with their disapproval of the Titans plans to draft an edge in round one? Or perhaps, the Titans did it themselves.

Unless they draft an edge in round one, we will likely never know where it began, but it doesn't matter. What matters is what happens during those three days when the Titans and the rest of the league meet to select players.

So, have the Titans started some or all of these rumors, or was it another club?

We don't know, and if others are as confused about what their team is planning to do, so too are others around the league.

So that leaves me with just one question.

Is Ran Carthon Really This Good At Playing The Game?
