Report: Tennessee Titans, Addressing Offensive Line Needs, Will Sign Center Lloyd Cushenberry
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans reportedly are making a significant move to upgrade a position of need with the offensive line.
According to a report from Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Titans have agreed to sign former Denver Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry. Terms of the deal haven't been disclosed.
Cushenberry, 26, came to the Broncos as a third-round pick in 2020 and started immediately at center as a rookie.
In 2023, Cushenberry played every offensive snap and allowed only one sack. Pro Football Focus, the sports analytics company that grades player performance, ranked Cushenberry as the fifth-best center in 2023.
Cushenberry's signing means the Titans are likely moving on from Aaron Brewer, who struggled to protect the quarterback on pass plays. He allowed six sacks, making him the second-worst center in this regard. He also allowed 34 pressures.
The Titans could keep Brewer and move him to another position on the line. Either way, it appears they have found their center with Cushenberry.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the Titans are signing running back Tony Pollard. It's likely Pollard's signing means Derrick Henry is gone. Both moves are a sign that times are changing in Nashville with new coach Brian Callahan.
