NASHVILLE – Mike Vrabel sounded optimistic about the status of rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks heading into Saturday’s finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Burks was not spotted at practice on Thursday and was limited on Wednesday due to a groin injury. He was one of five players listed as questionable on the week's final injury report.

“Well, I think he’ll be OK,” Vrabel said Thursday. “We held him out today.”

Vrabel ruled out just one player – cornerback Davontae Harris (hamstring) – on Thursday.

That’s a much shorter list than last game, when eight players were ruled out prior to their loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Will the likelihood of some returning players who missed the game against Dallas – such as defensive linemen Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons, as well as running back Derrick Henry, among others – serve to give the Titans an energy lift against the Jaguars?

The winner of the game will advance to the playoffs as AFC South champion.

“I hope that playing for the division and the opportunity to be in the playoffs gives us a lift,” Vrabel said. “Just the opportunity to be excited. That’s the whole thing we talked about this week is about being excited, about the opportunity and embracing the opportunity. So it seems like we’ve done that so far.”

Burks’ presence would certainly be a boost to a Titans offense that’s without starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill and multiple members of the starting offensive line.

Burks did not play in the Titans’ previous game to Jacksonville, a 36-22 loss.

Though limited to 10 games because of injuries this season, Burks is tied for fourth on the Titans with 29 catches and leads the team with 425 receiving yards. He’s coming off the second-most productive game of his season, as Burks had four catches for 66 yards in the Titans’ loss to Dallas.

Burks has missed six games this season, four on injured reserve due to turf toe and two due to concussion. He also missed much of the offseason because of asthma and conditioning issues.
