Titans Believe Mike Vrabel is 'Right Coach' for Future Success According to Latest Report from Dianna Russini
The Tennessee Titans have lost 14 of their last 17 games. A continuance of losing that would have any head coach under fire. So it is no surprise Mike Vrabel's status as head coach has been called into question by media and fans alike. However, the Titans as an organization clearly do not have Vrabel on the hot seat.
According to a recent report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Vrabel is not in jeopardy of losing his job and it sounds like the Titans are committed to Vrabel regardless of how the team performs through the back half of the season.
Russini wrote this in a major report that dropped on Thanksgiving morning:
"Frustrated New England Patriots fans can stop hoping owner Robert kraft will trade with Tennessee and replace head coach Bill Belichick with his former player Mike Vrabel. It's not happening.
Angry Tennessee Titans fans can stop hoping Amy Adams Strunk fires Vrabel. It's not happening.
Based on multiple conversations with high-ranking Titans officials, the franchise strongly and collectively believes it has the right coach for long-term success."
Russini typically has a good pulse on the ongoings in Nashville and if this report is to be believed, it clears up the biggest potential drama surrounding the team going forward the rest of the season.
Now, just because the Titans are planning to keep Vrabel around, doesn't mean they are happy with what they are seeing on the field.
"Is the Titans leadership thrilled with losing right now? No. Who is? But they are fully aware the foundation and identity of this team is reflective of their head coach. He does it his way and gets his players to believe that IS the way."
With the Vrabel drama seemingly put to bed, the focus can stay locked on to what is truly most important for the Titans this season — the development of Will Levis.
Sounds like the Titans know that, but want to see it happen under Vrabel's watch.
"While the Titans are still trying to figure out if rookie quarterback Will Levis is their quarterback of the future, the clearest vision this team has is who will be their leader for years to come. Ready, steady, Vrabel."
