Titans Wish List at 2024 NFL Scouting Combine: Receivers, Defensive Backs on the Clock Friday

Coveted first-round receivers Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze take questions Friday morning. Defensive backs, another Tennessee Titans need, run through their drills Friday afternoon.

INDIANAPOLIS – Tennessee Titans fans will want to pay close attention to Friday's action at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

Every day at the combine is valuable, but on Friday the wide receivers will address the media, giving Titans fans a chance to hear from potential draft picks Washington's Rome Odunze and LSU's Malik Nabers.

Most mock drafts have Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and Nabers taken before the Titans' pick at No. 7. Odunze might be available if the Titans choose to take an offensive tackle with a later pick.

Quarterbacks also are scheduled to speak, and talking may be the only action for the top three prospects — Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye. Neither player is expected to throw this weekend.

Running backs will also speak to reporters on Friday, and the Titans could select one in the later rounds to pair with Tyjae Spears if they can't re-sign Derrick Henry.

In the afternoon, defensive backs and tight ends run through the drills.

Here are some players we're looking forward to seeing:

  • Brock Bowers, tight end, Georgia
The best tight end in the NFL Draft is expected to go anywhere from fifth to 14th overall in the first round. He is the only two-time winner of the John Mackey Award as the best tight end in the country. He is a three-time All-American and a two-time national champion.
  • Khyree Jackson, cornerback, Oregon
  • Bleacher Report: "Jackson is an interesting prospect with a high ceiling. He still needs to shore up some things in the NFL, but he has the length and skill set that teams are looking for. Jackson has the potential to be an impact player in the NFL."
  • Max Melton, cornerback Rutgers
Melton had a great season playing for the Scarlet Knights, during which he made 32 tackles, four of which were for a loss, one sack, three interceptions, six pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. His impressive physical abilities and skill set make him a valuable asset who can potentially become an impact starter in the league.
  • Nehemiah Pritchett, cornerback, Auburn
  • For three seasons, Pritchett was a college teammate of Titans cornerback Roger McCreary.  Pritchett recorded 115 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 24 passes defended, and three interceptions during his Auburn career.
  • Tyler Nubin, safety, Minnesota
  • Bleacher Report: "With his size and strength, Nubin is one of the top safeties in this year's draft. Due to some of his shortcomings, he will need to go to a specific scheme where he has the ability to play strong safety and work mostly from the box. He may have a specific role in the run game and special teams at first, but he should be able to be used on all three downs in time."
  • BREAKING GROUND ON NEW STADIUM AND NEIGHBORHOOD: Start the clock on the next Nissan Stadium, which is scheduled to open to Tennessee Titans football, concerts, and the community in 2027. CLICK HERE
  • COMPASSION OVER COMPETITION: The Browns let offensive line guru Bill Callahan out of his contract so he could work with his son, first-year Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan. Said Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski: "It's a kid's game. It also is a business. But that doesn't mean you don't treat people the right way and treat them with respect and empathy." CLICK HERE
  • CHOP ROBINSON'S NICKNAME: Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson, projected as a late first-round pick in the NFL Draft, may have one of the most unique nicknames at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. CLICK HERE
  • TITANS DRAFT DAILY: Ran Carthon likes where the Tennessee Titans are picking — No. 7 in the 2024 NFL Draft. If it makes sense, he's willing to make a trade. Here's a scenario for trading down that could benefit the Titans, especially with such a deep class at offensive line and wide receiver. CLICK HERE
