Titans’ DeAndre Hopkins Hits Receiving Incentives, Earns Additional $500,000

With seven catches and 46 yards receiving, Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins collects $500,000 in contract incentives.

NASHVILLE — Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught a 4-yard pass from Ryan Tannehill with five minutes left in the fourth quarter of the season finale, earning him an extra $250,000 in bonus money.

Hopkins had earned another $250,000 bonus earlier in the second half when he surpassed 1,050 receiving yards for the season.

The Titans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-20.

After the game, quarterback Ryan Tannehill discussed the importance of helping Hopkins reach the incentives.

"I was very aware. I thought that we were actually a couple of yards short. And I told him, 'Hey I'm gonna get you this ball. I don't care what they call, I’m gonna get you this ball," Tannehill said. "They said he ended up getting it.

"So, thankful that I didn’t have to go rogue there, call a pass play at the end. I’ve got nothing to lose here. I’m out anyways, so what are they going to do? Thankful he was able to hit that. Obviously, wanted that for him and what he’s meant for this team over the course of this year. Showed up for us week-in and week-out and made huge plays over the course of this season. He definitely deserves it."

Runningback Derrick Henry expressed similar pleasure in seeing Hopkins hit the bonus during the win.

"I wanted D Hop to get that. I’m one of the main reasons he came here. I was very vocal to him during the offseason to get him here. I’m thankful I was able to play with him," Henry said. "It was good to see him go and get those incentives. It shows that he is still one of the greatest receivers in the league and has plenty more in the tank and I think you all saw that this season as well. Very happy for him.
