Knicks Big Man Trey Jemison Celebrates Major Life Milestone After Championship Season

For Trey Jemison, the past year has delivered considerably more than basketball memories.

The New York Knicks big man went from helping the franchise capture its first NBA championship in more than five decades to celebrating another life-changing moment away from the court.

Jemison and his wife, sports broadcaster Alex Jean Glover, gathered with approximately 100 loved ones for a Western-inspired wedding celebration at Southall Meadows in Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday, Aug. 21, according to People.

There was one fairly significant twist, though. Jemison and Glover were already married.

The couple secretly eloped in Antigua on Aug. 3, 2025, one day after getting engaged. More than a year later, they finally got the opportunity to celebrate their marriage alongside the people closest to them.

“We knew that we wanted everyone to be in one place to break the news and then party the night away after,” Jemison told People.

Rather than hold another ceremony, the newlyweds revealed their secret marriage to their guests with a video during the reception.

Trey Jemison's wedding capped a whirlwind year

Planning a wedding can be complicated enough without trying to squeeze it around an NBA season. For Jemison and Glover, that became part of the challenge.

While Glover handled much of the early planning, Jemison was in the middle of a historic season in New York. The Knicks ultimately defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals, ending a championship drought that stretched back to 1973.

Once the season finally ended, Jemison could turn his attention toward the celebration.

Glover told People that she met with wedding planner Susanna of Lumi Accents during the postseason, and the couple later came up with a plan for their vision after New York's championship parade.

They ultimately landed on a Western theme, with shades of green, brown and cream throughout the event. And there was one detail Glover considered essential: a mechanical bull.

The couple leaned all the way into the theme. Jemison wore a bespoke Custom Men suit with cowboy boots, while Glover wore a lace gown from Vow'd Nashville and later changed into a custom robe and sparkly minidress.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they opted for mini cakes and an ice cream cart.

Jemison and Glover kept their marriage secret for more than a year

The celebration also put an exclamation point on a relationship that moved quickly once it began.

Jemison and Glover first connected in the summer of 2024 after he came across one of her sports broadcasting videos on social media. The two began dating that December and managed a long-distance relationship around their demanding careers.

Then came August 2025. Jemison proposed on Aug. 2. The next day, the couple eloped in Antigua.

They managed to keep the marriage under wraps for more than a year before finally sharing the news with their friends and family at their Tennessee celebration.

“Distance never stood in the way,” Jemison told People. “Instead, it strengthened our commitment as we’ve made equal sacrifices, prioritized one another, and chosen to show up every time, no matter where life or work takes us.”

Now the secret is out, the wedding celebration is complete and another extraordinary chapter in Jemison's year is officially in the books.

After navigating an NBA championship season and wedding planning at the same time, Jemison and Glover are looking toward what comes next together.

“We just want to enjoy life and live in God’s will,” Glover said.
