Bahrain Grand Prix Weather Forecast - What Fans Can Expect

This year's F1 World Championship season will kick off in Bahrain this weekend, and the teams can expect warm, sunny weather as the race gets underway. Rain is unlikely to make an appearance with Bahrain having one of the lowest annual precipitation levels in the world.
Interestingly, the Bahrain International Circuit has never experienced a wet session during any of the 19 separate race weekends held at the venue. The lack of rainfall in the region makes it highly improbable that the teams will have to deal with wet track conditions this year.
The forecast predicts that the weather conditions will be similar to those experienced during the pre-season test, with temperatures set to reach a maximum of 25C on Friday and dip to a low of 15C in the evening. Wind speeds are expected to be low, around 5-15km/h, making it easier for the teams to maintain control of their cars.
Qualifying is scheduled to take place when temperatures are forecast to drop to a low of 14C. Meanwhile, on race day, temperatures will hit a high of 26C, making it the hottest day of the weekend.
Since 2014, the Bahrain International Circuit has hosted night races, resulting in cooler and more consistent temperatures. This year's race marks the 11th race held under lights, including the additional round held in 2020 on the ‘Outer’ circuit configuration, known as the Sakhir Grand Prix. Cooler temperatures are beneficial to the teams' cars as they should be able to run on softer tyres for longer.
The 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix was notorious for being one of the hottest F1 races ever held, with temperatures reaching a sweltering 42C and the asphalt recording a scorching 57C.
