Similar to the first Free Practice session this morning, the session avoided wet weather despite forecasts expecting rain at various points throughout the weekend.

Lance Stroll was able to get out during FP2 after running into engine issues during FP1 earlier today. Nico Hulkenberg's Haas VF-23 was also repaired in time after he crashed out of the morning session.

Just ten minutes into the session both Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo crashed at Turn 3, ending the session for the Australian drivers. A red flag was subsequently put on the session whilst both the McLaren MCL60 and AlphaTauri AT04 were removed from the track. It was later reported that Ricciardo had been sent to the medical centre. On board footage revealed that he did not have enough time to remove his right hand from the steering wheel before the impact of hitting the race wall.

The remainder of the session was thankfully clean allowing the drivers and teams to run tests and different fuel runs before the third and final practice session tomorrow morning.
