F1 Fans Complain To F1 About Dangerous Canadian GP: "Fix This Track!"

As the anticipation for the Canadian Grand Prix built up this weekend, fans of the sport voiced their disappointment with F1. Recent alterations at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve didn't go down well with the passionate supporters as they complain about the danger and quality of the Canadian track.

Earlier in the week, the FIA announced some significant changes to the race track, including an extended race wall at Turn 2. The change now forces drivers to navigate through a patch of grass or pivot entirely back towards oncoming traffic to avoid colliding with the wall if they off at this corner. Fans were expecting this change to be a topic of discussion in the drivers' meeting.

During the free practice three, Ted Kravitz, the Sky Sports F1 pundit, dropped a hint: "It was discussed, this turn 1 wall, and was left with the FIA and... we know the result."

With rain and dangerous conditions playing a big part in today's qualifying session, fans were quick to chastise the lack of care F1 is taking over its drivers.

As qualifying starts to wind down, it's fair to say that this hasn't been an easy weekend for any of the drivers so far. Carlos Sainz, of Ferrari, was seen impeding and being a roadblock for several cars such as Alpine's Pierre Gasly. In fact, due to impeding by the Spaniard, the Frenchman lost out on Q2.

As the Canadian Grand Prix unfolds this weekend, we'll see if changes are made to the track, or if they're simply left unchanged.
