F1 News: Carlos Sainz Under Fire For Passing Blame For Belgian GP Crash -"Nothing But Awful"

F1 fans have been taking aim at Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz for his public response to his collision with Oscar Piastri at Turn 1 on Lap 1 of the Belgian Grand Prix.
The Spanish driver locked up going into Turn 1 and at the same time, Piastri went for a gap on the inside. However, with the lock-up, there was nowhere for Sainz to go and so the pair collided with each other as well as Piastri scraping the wall. Both cars eventually retired from the race.
The race stewards decided that the collision was a race incident and no penalties were given. However, after the race, Sainz posted to social media shifting blame to Piastri. He wrote:
"Not what we wanted today. Racing incident, but Oscar was too optimistic. He was never side by side and that move has never really worked in Spa. Congrats to the team and Charles on an encouraging result. We’ll keep pushing after the break!"

One fan posted to Reddit that Piastri's response to the moment was much more mature, they wrote:
"There is a stark difference in how Sainz and Piastri comment on the incident. Piastri came out with what seemed much more mature and reasonable response.
"Granted that could be explained by the fact that it was very clear by mid-race that McLaren had no race pace and Piastri would've struggled to stay anywhere near the top even if he made it through turn 1, whereas Sainz had serious fighting chances for good points."
Another fan commented on a similarity they had spotted in Sainz's interviews so far this season. They wrote:
"Sainz interviews and comments this year have been nothing but awful. He spends 50% of the time talking about Charles and the other 50% talking about how he could've been so much better if not for a thousand things that got in his way."
Someone else commented:
"Sainz is almost 30 and in a Ferrari and he’s involved in this shit every 3rd or 4th race. He’s got all the intangibles to be a World champion except the talent part."
