Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has confirmed to F1 Insider that Daniel Ricciardo will not be taking part in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix weekend after breaking his wrist during the crash during FP2 earlier today.

During the Dutch GP FP2, Oscar Piastri crashed into the race barrier at Turn 3. Trailing close, Ricciardo found himself with no room to manoeuvre, resulting in his McLaren also meeting the same fate.

Shortly after the incident, the practice session faced an abrupt pause, with a red flag being raised within just ten minutes of its start.

The immediate challenge for the race officials was to ensure the quick removal of the obstructing McLaren MCL60 and AlphaTauri AT04, underscoring their commitment to ensuring both racer safety and the seamless progression of the event.

Post-collision, Ricciardo was swiftly directed to the medical centre, as indicated by F1 expert, Will Buxton. Further amplifying worries, Ricciardo's radio communication revealed distress regarding his hands. Supporting this was footage which highlighted his inability to free his hand from the steering wheel before the impact.

Ricciardo has since been taking to hospital for X-Rays and it has now been confirmed that he has broken his wrist meaning he will be unable to race for the rest of the weekend. As the Dutch Grand Prix is the first race of a double-header, it is also unlikely that the Australian driver will be racing during the Italian Grand Prix next weekend as well.

It has also been confirmed that Red Bull junior driver and reserve driver Liam Lawson will be taking Ricciardo's place for the remainder of the weekend at the Zandvoort track.
