Hungaroring's infamous turn 1 has been lately known to be the spot where multiple F1 cars crash into each other. In 2021, Valtteri Bottas caused a crash of such scale that it involved almost half of the grid's cars in the pile-up.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix, we all saw how Zhou Guanyu braked late into turn 1 and crashed into Daniel Ricciardo's AlphaTauri F1 car in the process. This caused Ricciardo's car to crash into Esteban Ocon's car which literally bounced off the tarmac and fell partly onto teammate Pierre Gasly's car, thereby damaging the rear wing.

Shockingly, the force of the impact was such that it split Ocon's seat in half and sadly, the Alpine team ended up with a double DNF for the second time in a row. Thankfully though, all the drivers were safe but Ocon was taken to the medical centre to have his back inspected for internal injuries.

After medical scrutiny, the 26-year-old French driver has tweeted that he and Gasly are "ok". He posted:

"Unlucky. Frustrating. Big impact on the crash but glad we are both ok. We regroup and come back next week."

While fans expressed gratitude for the drivers' well-being, the second DNF extended the gap between the French team and McLaren in the constructors' standings. McLaren took the fifth spot from Alpine after their double DNF at the British Grand Prix and the gap between the two teams has gone from 12 to 40.

On the other hand, Zhou was handed a meager five-second penalty for causing a collision while Ricciardo started from the back of the grid.
