F1 fans have been calling out those who were in the crowds at the Miami Grand Prix for booing and swearing at two-time champion Max Verstappen and the Red Bull team.

Videos have been shared to social media showing people in the grandstands heckling the Austrian team. One fan shared one of the moments, writing:

"It’s disgusting how is it possible to act like that wtf"

The Dutch driver commented on the boos that he received from the crowds during the pre-race drivers' parade and when he was on the top spot of the podium after the race, saying:

“I think if I will be driving in the back nobody will be even doing anything in terms of reaction. Right?

“I think it’s normal when you’re winning and they don’t like who is winning.

“So this is something for me which is absolutely fine as long as I stand on the top, that’s for me the most important. I take the trophy home and they go back to their houses and they can have a nice evening.”

Another F1 fan responded to the video arguing that despite who you support, every driver deserves respect. They commented:

"F1 so toxic since 2021 now.. whatever side you support the drivers deserve a base level of respect when they risk their lives.. I don't like the booing either but this stuff is obv worse and just so trash."

Someone else commented raising the question of why people cannot just ignore the drivers they don't support. They wrote:

"Reminds me of last year why can’t people just ignore the drivers they dislike instead of acting like this?"

Another F1 fan felt that it was a result from Netflix's Drive to Survive. Verstappen had already criticised the shows producers for portraying him as the bad guy, so unfortunately some fans that have come from the 'Drive to Survive era' may have stronger feelings over this. They argued:

"Yeah, this is not the spirit of the pre-DTS F1 era, but with new popularity, we can expect this from new supporters. Maybe a little of our responsibility to show class at the races so they learn from us"
