F1 News: Fans Hail Monaco Qualifying After "Electrifying" Session - "Have Goosebumps"

F1 fans have been loving the eventful qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix tomorrow.
Max Verstappen took his first pole position in Monte Carlo and will be starting on the front row with Fernando Alonso beside him. Whereas, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez crashed during Q1 and so will be starting from twentieth on the grid.
The session showed a real mix of drivers up near the front of the grid with Fernando Alonso and Charles Leclerc both putting a lot of pressure on Verstappen for pole position.
Fans have loved the dramatic qualifying session with many taking to social media to share their thoughts. One fan posted:
"That qualifying was electrifying, my bpm sky rocketed in q3, Alonso was soo close but gotta give it to Max that was an unreal sector 3"

Another fan responded:
"That was an awesome qualifying. Thought Alonso had it in the bag. Don't know how Max pulled that off."
"Some ups. Some downs. But overall it was a great day of racing. Hope tomorrow is as entertaining as today."
There has been criticism over the years that Monaco can be a boring race as it is very difficult for drivers to perform overtakes, which is why the qualifying session is so important in Monte Carlo. Another fan posted:
"That was a superb quali. Alpine, Ferrari, Aston and Red Bull all in the mix. And a lap where the driver made the difference takes the pole. It's why it's such a good track, despite its racing limitations. But that's on current F1, rather than Monte Carlo. #MonacoGP"
Someone else summed the session up nicely, writing:
"Monaco quali. I have goosebumps."
