F1 News: Fernando Alonso Fires Warning To Red Bull Ahead Of Canadian Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso is confident for the Canadian Grand Prix tomorrow after qualifying in third position for the race in Montreal, sending a warning to Red Bull.
The Spanish driver has gone into the weekend making a bold claim that he believes he can finish on the podium for every race until the end of the season. On top of this, there is a huge amount of hype for the two-time champion to achieve his 33rd career race win this year.
During his post-qualifying interview with Sky Sports presenter Danica Patrick, the Aston Martin driver reflected on the chaotic session saying that choosing the right tyres was incredibly important with the changeable weather. He explained:
“It was a very tricky qualifying session when choosing the right tyres at the right time. P3, you know we will take it. It's a good place to start.
"I think tomorrow we will have a chance to put some pressure on Red Bull. I think they had very easy wins until now, and tomorrow we will hopefully push more tomorrow.”
When asked to elaborate on what he means by putting more pressure on Red Bull, who has dominated the season winning every race so far, Alonso said with a smile that they will be just 2 seconds ahead rather than 20 seconds.
Current drivers' championship leader Max Verstappen will be starting from pole position tomorrow with Nico Hulkenberg joining him on the front row in second position. Alonso will start from third with Lewis Hamilton starting from fourth.
Alonso's Aston Martin teammate Lance Stroll will have a more challenging race on his hands as he starts his home race from thirteenth position on the grid.
