F1 News: Ferrari prepares short-term fix for Canada

Ferrari's championship bid has taken some heavy blows in the last month, with reliability costing the Scuderia valuable points.

The Maranello squad has investigated its two failures from the Azerbaijan GP ahead of the next race in Canada, and has communicated its next steps as a team to its fans:

Ferrari confirms a hydraulics failure led to the retirement of Carlos Sainz and has implemented a "short term fix" to prevent the issue from appearing again.

However, perhaps more importantly is the Scuderia's long-term plans to tackle what is becoming a detrimental issue, this being the vulnerability of their power unit.

Red Bull experienced similar problems at the start of the season but seems to have eliminated their Achilles heel from the opening rounds.

It is now Ferrari's turn to show mid-season progression and development, as a response to the increasing momentum and confidence of the Red Bull team.

The Canadian GP weekend will answer some of the pressing questions at Ferrari's door, including whether the team will take a grid-penalty with Charles Leclerc or not.
