The FIA has recommended changes to the Red Bull Ring track after the chaotic Austrian Grand Prix race weekend.

Track limits have been a common problem throughout the whole weekend and the issues are still ongoing. Multiple drivers were handed five-second penalties during the race today, including Lewis Hamilton, Yuki Tsunoda, Alex Albon, Carlos Sainz, and Pierre Gasly.

However, since the race has come to a close, Aston Martin has lodged a complaint with the stewards which has spurred them on to review more potential track limit infringements which could change the results of the race.

F1 journalist Chris Medland has shared an update to social media, writing:

"The FIA says there were 1200 times they had to look at potential track limit infringements and 'prior to the submission of a Protest against the result, we had already begun a full review of the track limits infringements, which is ongoing'.

On top of this, Medland also revealed that the FIA has recommended changes to the exit of Turn 9 and Turn 10 which is where the majority of the infringements took place. He continued:

"'The results will be updated once the review of those which were not able to be reviewed during the race is complete.'

"The FIA also recommends gravel traps are installed on the exit of Turn 9 and Turn 10"

A meeting began over an hour ago to look into all of the potential moments the track limits were exceeded but there is currently no update from the Stewards as to whether any further penalties will be given and so the results of the race will change.
