The F1 drivers and pundits are not happy with the changes that have been made to the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve for the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.

The FIA revealed earlier in the week that the race wall at Turn 2 (run-off for Turn 1) had been extended. However, this now means that if a driver goes off at this corner, to avoid colliding with the wall they have to either go through a patch of grass or turn around altogether.

It was anticipated that this would be brought up during the drivers' meeting yesterday evening. Sky Sports F1 pundit Ted Kravitz revealed during free practice three that he knows someone who was in the meeting who disclosed that it was raised as an issue and went to the FIA, however he points out that we clearly know the answer as nothing has been changed. He explained:

"It was discussed, this turn 1 wall, and was left with the FIA and... we know the result."

This isn't the only change that has been made to the circuit in Montreal with the pit lane extended, the entrance to the pit lane narrowed, as well as some other small changes to the race wall around the track.

The third and final free practice session has come to an end with qualifying set to take place in a couple of hours time. Rain has been falling over the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve all day and it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon, so many are expecting another rain-soaked session.
