F1 News: Kevin Magnussen Forced To Retire From Monaco FP3

Kevin Magnussen has been forced to retire from the third free practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix with just under ten minutes to go.

The Danish driver span out at Turn 1 but managed to avoid a collision with the race barriers. After slowly manoeuvring the Haas out of the turn putting a green flag back on the session, Magnussen ground to a halt triggering a virtual safety car.

The Haas team managed to find some light in the situation, posting to social media:

"At least we know reverse gear is working correctly.

"… and the parking brake"

The American team now have under three hours to see what the situation is with Magnussen's Haas and make any necessary repairs ahead of the qualifying session this afternoon.

Shortly after Magnussen's car was removed from the track, Lewis Hamilton crashed into the barriers at Turn 5 causing a red flag. This brought the third free practice session to a close with about four minutes to go.
