F1 News: Las Vegas Grand Prix Construction Update Looks So Close To Finishing

A video on social media platform X offers an update on the construction of the Las Vegas Grand Prix Pit Building. The drone footage clearly shows a near-finished structure that should be open to function in a few days.

The 300,000-square-foot space is to host the start-finish line, the pit lane, team garages, and high-end hospitality space. In addition to the structure, the crew was also spotted adding seats to a few temporary grandstands that are being made.

The garage area of the Pit Building is set to be occupied by approximately 4500 people, including the crew members of the F1 teams and the Formula 1 governing body FIA's personnel.

With progress happening in full swing, 95% of the construction is said to have been completed as of today. Maybe, by the end of October, the finishing touches to the overall construction could be done.

Once everything is in place and ready to go, the FIA and race officials will walk the track to ensure all the elements of Las Vegas Street Circuit and its surroundings meet the governing body's strict regulations.

Senior director of race operations for the Las Vegas Grand Prix Silvia Bellot told Review Journal that the officials are happy about the progress so far. She said:

“So far they are very happy with the results they have seen.

"For the race week FIA, will be here. We’re all going to be walking the track together making sure that when the track is finalized everything is in place and everything is in accordance with the rules and regulations.”

The drone footage confirms that work is indeed coming close to completion, from the details on the exterior of the structure, and the lighting inside the building to the placement of seats on the grandstands. All that seems to be pending now is some cleaning up of the area and some more work on the track pertaining to the kerbs.
