F1 News: Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso Share Beautiful Moment After Canadian GP

This is what it means to be at the top of your game.

The Canadian Grand Prix saw some brilliant moments between Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and his long-term rival Fernando Alonso. The drivers were at each other's gearboxes for a lot of the race, with the Aston Martin driver eventually coming ahead of the Brit in P2. But after the race, a beautiful moment occurred between them both in the TV pen as they joked with each other, smiles wide on each face. 

Alonso started in P2, but with his car starting on the right-hand side of the track and Hamilton on the left, albeit on the row behind, the 7-time champion was quick to dispatch the Spaniard. The pace of the Mercedes simply couldn't keep up with the Aston, though, as the 2-time champ eventually made an overtake under DRS. 

Lewis: "His reaction's a little slow. I's an age thing."

Alonso: "In Austria 2 weeks' time"

After the race, the two found themselves next to each other, albeit in separate interviews. With the camera facing Alonso, he could hear Hamilton in the background commenting on his age.

"His reactions are a little slow. It's an age thing," he joked, looking over to Alonso and smiling. The two drivers are the oldest of the grid, with Fernando 41 and Lewis 38. Despite this, both are showing incredible pace and Fernando especially is back at the top of his game. 

"Austria in two weeks' time," Fernando said, jokingly warning Hamilton of the performance to come. 

The two shared a quick slap on the back while laughing with each other in a heartwarming moment. 

Fernando is currently only 9 points off Sergio Perez, the Red Bull driver currently sat behind Max Verstappen who is leading the driver's championship. And while Aston Martin has shown incredible pace, it sits 3rd in the Constructor championship behind Mercedes in 2nd and Red Bull in 1st.
