F1 News: Lewis Hamilton Hits Out At Formula 1 - "Never Seems To Work"

Lewis Hamilton and his teammate George Russell have voiced their concerns about Red Bull's dominant performance in the 2023 Formula 1 season. Hamilton acknowledged the sentiments of fans who have labelled this season's races as "boring," suggesting that the regulations set by the FIA have contributed to Red Bull's significant advantage.
Red Bull has had an impressive start to the season, winning every race so far and securing four 1-2 finishes. This has propelled them to a commanding 122-point lead in the Constructors' Championship. Since the introduction of the new aerodynamic regulations, the Milton Keynes-based team has won an impressive 22 out of 27 races completed since 2022. In contrast, Ferrari has claimed only four victories during the same period, while Mercedes has only secured one win, underscoring Red Bull's superiority.
Hamilton believes that the regulations are to blame for Red Bull's dominance. He expressed frustration, stating that attempts to change the regulations in order to level the playing field have been ineffective in practice. Despite this, Hamilton emphasised that he is personally motivated to work hard and challenge himself to regain a competitive position.
I’m challenged every single day to get back to the front, so it’s definitely not boring from my perspective,” Hamilton told the press.“But as a racing fan watching, I can understand because there’s not as much competition as there perhaps is in the NFL or the NBA at the moment.
“That’s not my doing. As a sport they have already tried to bring the teams closer but it never seems to work. All I can say is that we’re working as hard as we can to close up and get back and give them more of a fight.”
George Russell, Hamilton's teammate, shares a similar perspective. He emphasised that the battle for third place in the races, which often involves Ferrari and Aston Martin, provides more excitement than the predictable outcome of the first two positions taken by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in their dominant Red Bull cars.
“The competition we’ve got at the moment between Ferrari and Aston Martin, at every race we go to it’s really close between us in qualifying, the pace is really close in the race,” Russell said. “It’s obviously just a shame that there’s two more cars well out in front. So forget about those two and just watch the race for P3. It may be a bit more exciting.”
