F1 News: Martin Brundle Finds Major Issue With Alfa Romeo C43 After Its Release

Sky Sports pundit and former driver Martin Brundle has taken to social media to share his thoughts on the Alfa Romeo C43 which was unveiled today during a live event in Zurich.
Fans were quick to react to the bold new livery and Brundle did not hesitate to share his thoughts either. He wrote to Twitter:
"Love the back of the rear wing. This new low weight carbon finish is becoming very prevalent in F1, weight limit drops by 2kgs this year and most teams were struggling before, but this car will be hard to see on TV or trackside on an overcast day."

The Swiss team have opted to swap the red and white livery for a bold red and black design, which could be to help with weight saving. Some fans also wrote to social media that it could be mistaken for a Ferrari when on the track due to the similar colour scheme.
Brundle's comments sparked more discussion in the comments. One fan responded:
"I reckon there will be a lot of half unpainted cars this year, F1 is the only place where black is a lighter colour than white."

Another Twitter user brought up the fact that Mercedes, who are due to launch the W14 on February 15, have been teasing fans with a potential black livery similar to the W12. They wrote:
"Mercedes keep hinting at the re-introduction of a black car. Can’t wait to see how they might utilise this same weight saving carbon finish design."

Someone else suggested the F1 should bring in a rule to stop teams taking it too far. They commented:
"Surprised there isn’t a livery regulation to ensure all the cars don’t just become half carbon"

Another user had a similar idea, writing:
"I wonder if the regulations will have to change in the future? With cars getting heavier we risk having 20 full carbon cars running around the track. Possibly forcing a change to ensure a painted finish."
