The Circuit of the Americas saw the young Red Bull ace, Max Verstappen, clinch a momentous 50th win in his F1 career. However, the path to the top podium wasn't a straightforward one for Verstappen today. Coming from sixth on the grid, the Dutchman faced an uphill task from the word go.
Verstappen, candid in his post-race interview, pointed out a crucial aspect affecting his race performance:
"The whole race, I was struggling a lot with the brakes. Around here there are quite a few braking points, I couldn't really have the same feeling as yesterday so that definitely made my race a bit tougher out here today. It was very close at the end and also with the backmarkers, the tyres are already going so it makes it more difficult."
However, the difficulties of the day couldn't overshadow the significance of the win. Speaking to Jenson Button, Verstappen couldn't hide his joy.
"It's incredible to win my 50th Grand Prix here. Very proud of course and we will keep on trying to push for more."
Joining the Dutch driver on the podium were seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton and McLaren's Lando Norris.
