F1 News: Max Verstappen Reveals Hilarious Present From Red Bull After Memorable Outburst

In a surprising turn of events, Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver currently leading the charge in the 2023 season, has disclosed that his team presented him with a unique gift following his infamous DRS issues during the 2022 Spanish Grand Prix. The team creatively crafted a memento using a can of Red Bull and the broken DRS actuator, providing Verstappen with a tangible reminder of the challenging race.
During the previous season, Verstappen showcased his exceptional talent by clinching his second World Championship title, triumphing in an impressive 15 out of 22 races. However, even in the midst of his dominant performances, his early-season retirements hinted at potential setbacks lying in wait.

Then came the Spanish Grand Prix, where Verstappen encountered significant DRS issues. The problems initially arose during qualifying, potentially costing him pole position, and unfortunately resurfaced during the main race. Frustration boiled over as he radioed his team, expressing his discontent with the malfunctioning DRS:
"Where's the f***ing DRS? Man, we can't even make the f***ing DRS work, unbelievable!"
Informed that the DRS was actually closing, Verstappen retorted:
"Because I'm pressing it 50 f***ing times before it opens!"
Despite the setbacks, he demonstrated resilience and went on to secure victory in the Grand Prix, finishing ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez and Mercedes driver George Russell.
In a heartwarming gesture, Red Bull later gifted Verstappen a one-of-a-kind present, symbolising his triumph over the DRS challenges. Verstappen excitedly shared the details of the gift during a live stream, describing it as a meticulously machined can of Red Bull, cleverly incorporating the broken DRS actuator. The gift also featured engravings, including the words: "DRS, I have no f***ing DRS," along with a depiction of his race wins and career points.
Verstappen expressed his genuine appreciation for the thoughtful and unique gift, emphasizing the craftsmanship involved.
“The team gave me a present,” he said during a livestream. “It’s a can of Red Bull, it’s machined out of one piece, and the DRS actuator is in there.
“How cool is that?
"And then it says ‘DRS, I have no f***ing DRS’.
"At the back it says, at the time my race wins and career points. It’s really nicely done.
“I thought that was a really nice present.”
Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, took Verstappen's frustration in stride, understanding the intense emotions that come with competitive racing. He commented: "An angry Max makes for a very fast Max," acknowledging the impact of Verstappen's passionate outburst. Horner also humorously mentioned the number of times Verstappen pressed the DRS button on a single straight, further highlighting the intensity of the moment.
