F1 News: Max Verstappen Rubbishes Helmut Marko's Red Bull Upgrade Claims Ahead Of Spanish GP

Two-time F1 champion Max Verstappen has rubbished Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko's recent claims that the team are "trying something new" with RB19 upgrades at the Spanish Grand Prix.
In a recent interview with Austrian TV station OE24, Marko stated:
"We are going to try something new in Barcelona."
However, after being questioned on the intriguing upgrades, Verstappen made it clear that the team are going to be running their "normal programme" in Barcelona. He explained:
“I think Helmut got a bit excited!
“I don’t know. We will just do our normal programme. Nothing crazy.”
The Dutch driver went on to confirm that he believes the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will suit the RB19. He continued:
“It should do.
“We still need to find a good balance. As long as we have a good balance in the car we can have a good weekend.”
The Dutch driver is fighting for his third championship win this year and has been branded as a driver who is capable of breaking many records. However, Verstappen has said that be is not actually that bothered by that. The driver lives and breathes racing with Formula One and sim racing, but he has made comments of his potential retirement after his contract expires in 2028.
Verstappen went on to explain that he has already achieved his goal of winning a championship so he is now just wanting to win as many races as he can and enjoy his time. He added:
“I just want to keep doing what I am doing. But I need a good car for that.
“I don’t know long that will last, hopefully for a while. I want to improve every year, sometimes that works out better than others. My goal was to win a championship.
“Now it’s to enjoy the moment, to win as many races as I can. But I’ve never been someone who wants to break records. And hopefully I will work with [my current team] for a long while, as well."
