F1 News: Max Verstappen Teases Lando Norris As Teammate - "We'll See What Happens"

Max Verstappen has revealed that he and Lando Norris often talk about driving as teammates in the future.
This comes amid ongoing rumours about Verstappen's current Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez's contract with the Austrian team. Perez is in contract until the end of 2024 and although team principal Christian Horner remains adamant that the Mexican driver will continue to drive until the end of that contract, motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has explained that it is all dependant on his performance.

This has, unsurprisingly, set off the rumour mill once again of who could take the spot next to Verstappen. A name that often comes up in conversation is McLaren driver Norris. The Belgian-British driver has been proving himself with the Woking-based squad for some time despite the struggles the team has had with their F1 cars. He is also a close friend of Verstappen's which some believe would help.
Many insiders discuss the difficulties drivers face as a teammate of Verstappen's, so choosing the right driver is incredibly important for Red Bull, especially if you consider the 2018 season with Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo coming to blows on the track.
During an interview with Sky Sports Italy, the two-time champion revealed that the possibility of being teammates in the future is something that he and Norris have discussed. He explained:
"We talk about it.
"But he's contracted to McLaren for a long time.
"We'll see what happens in the future."
Verstappen has just won his ninth race in a row making it eleven wins out of thirteen races in 2023 for the Dutchman. If he goes on to take the victory in Monza this coming weekend, he will then break the record of the number of consecutive wins.
