F1 News: Mercedes Chief Opens Up On Lewis Hamilton's Expiring Contract Amid Ferrari Rumours

Toto Wolff has spoken about Lewis Hamilton's contract amid rumours of his future within the sport.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has directly addressed the ongoing rumours surrounding Lewis Hamilton's contract extension. With Hamilton's current deal set to expire at the end of the 2023 season, speculation has been rife about the future of the seven-time World Champion with the Brackley-based squad. “And we keep seeing the same thing; that we’re just rolling on, it’s not any difficult contract negotiations, it’s just putting a different timeline and a few different numbers in there.

“And that’s what we do. And we’re, we’re working on this. It’s a work in progress, bouncing emails back and forth. And eventually we’re going to sign it.”

These words convey both the familiarity and the complexities that come with negotiating such a significant agreement. However, Wolff assures fans that the negotiations are progressing smoothly, with the team actively working to finalise the details.
