F1 is becoming more and more popular in America with F1’s very first race in Miami this weekend and with Las Vegas being added to the calendar for the 2023 season. This is partly due to the massive amount of marketing done by the F1 in recent years and also Drive To Survive, which has just been renewed for another two seasons.

Fans and the drivers have been enjoying the race weekend so far in Miami with the new track and everything the city has to offer. A journalist for Sports Business Journal, Adam Stern, has revealed how much the F1 has to offer the local area, though, as Miami has topped merchandise sales globally.

Stern wrote:

“America has become F1's top-selling market for merchandise sold online globally, per Fanatics, which runs the e-commerce site and said overall sales are up 135% YOY.

"The numbers are based on sales since the start of the season."

F1 merchandise is very expensive so it is completely surprising that an affluent area like Miami would take the top sales.

One fan said:

"Have you seen the prices - I feel América has a larger demographic that can actually afford to pay the prices."

Another fan added:

"That explains the $50 T shirts."

A third fan explained that Fanatics' priority is on US sales, saying:

"Fanatics is only good if you live in the states. It's almost cheaper as a Canadian to just buy from the States and ship it than use their .Ca website."
