Haas team principal Guenther Steiner explained to Sky Sports F1 that although Hulkenberg was lucky that there was minimal damage, the front wing was really the main thing they wanted to avoid damage on.
The American team has brought an upgraded front wing this weekend and Steiner confirmed that they only have one other front wing for Hulkenberg's car, meaning they need to make a decision of whether to put the replacement on for this afternoon session or save it for tomorrow.

With under three hours to go until Free Practice Two, the Haas team doesn't have a lot of time to make that decision and investigate any other issues that could have been caused from the crash.
As the Free Practice session got going the remaining drivers had approximately ten minutes left of the session.
