Navigating the challenges of the Suzuka circuit for the first time, Oscar Piastri's performance has been nothing short of impressive. Reflecting on his qualifying efforts, Piastri shared:

"Yeah, the first lap was pretty solid. I was quite happy with it. The last Chicane, I could have done a better job. But, yeah, it was a good lap and then the second lap, my first sector was good and the next two sectors, not so good. So, happy to end it in P2."

McLaren's recent upgrades seem to be bearing fruit, giving both drivers the edge needed to compete at the front. Piastri acknowledged this, stating:

"It's been a really good weekend for the team so far. We got upgrades on the car and they're quick and we thought we might have a decent chance around here. But, no, we're still gonna make it happen. So, happy to be second and for the team to be 2nd and 3rd."

As he prepares to line up on the grid, Piastri, undoubtedly aware of the opportunity before him, exudes both excitement and determination.

"It's the first time I started on the front row for a while. So, no, it'll be cool. You know, there's only one car I have to overtake, so, I'll try and make that happen."
