Despite the continued dominance of Red Bull so far in the 2023 season, the Austrian team are set to bring upgrades to the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix

Red Bull has won all six races of the season so far and four out of those six were impressive 1-2 finishes for the team. They have extended their lead in the constructors' championship by 129 points.

During a recent interview with Austrian TV station OE24, Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has confirmed the team are testing a new approach during the race in Barcelona. He said:

"We are going to try something new in Barcelona."

Fans have taken the opportunity to joke that the team will be adopting a zero sidepod concept for the upcoming race, however, I think we can all agree that is not going to happen.

The Red Bull upgrades are not the only ones we are expecting to see this weekend either, with Aston Martin reportedly expecting their upgrades to improve their pace by two tenths of a second per lap. Ferrari are also anticipated to bring the upgrades that they had planned for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix but postponed them with the cancellation.

Mercedes brought significant upgrades to the Monaco Grand Prix, saying goodbye to their zero sidepod design. However, it was difficult to see the true performance of the upgrades on the tight streets of Monte Carlo, so it is expected that fans will be able to obtain a more true representation of the performance in Barcelona.
