F1 News: Red Bull's New Sidepod Design Revealed Ahead Of Hungarian Grand Prix

Red Bull is bringing upgrades to the Hungarian Grand Prix including a drastic new sidepod design. And while we would have loved to see Adrian Newey take on something like Mercedes' interesting zero-pod concept, they've instead opted for a very slight change instead.
During the British Grand Prix, Max Verstappen's lead suddenly dwindled thanks to a McLaren, driven by Lando Norris, that appeared in his side mirrors. In fact, the British driver led a number of laps at the beginning of the race with his Papaya race car finally looking like it had the pace for a podium.
And that it did, with Norris finishing in P2 and his teammate Oscar Piastri finishing in an unlucky P4. So, it comes as no surprise that it's time for an upgrade on the RB19, with them pushing their design further than ever before, leaning into the undercut concept.
Ahead of the race weekend, Max Verstappen teased that the new upgrades would bring a new look to the RB19 while also making the car 2-tenths faster. Anticipation has been building to spot the design changes and photos are now starting to be shared to social media.

Many had guessed that the Austrian team would adopt a similar design to Aston Martin's sidepods with the 'waterslide' design incorporated into their now-iconic sidepod shape. However, the championship leaders have gone for a different approach developing on what has already brought them success.
Significant changes come to the radiator duct inlet, which has a smaller cooling inlet to reduce drag, and a larger undercut to potentially push air towards the rear of the car where it can work its magic. It's clear to see that the Milton Keynes outfit have plenty of confidence in their cooling system (and Adrian Newey).
Take a look at just how small those inlets look from the front, albeit it wider:

Those inlets are super narrow😳
Red Bull must be incredibly confident in their cooling system. Let's see how these upgrades work tomorrow

We'll see this weekend whether these upgrades bring the proposed 2-tenth increase in pace that we've been told.
