F1 News: Singapore Track Changes To Stay Until 2027 Despite Two-Year Plan

The progress of construction work in the Marina Bay Street Circuit, which caused the latest changes to the track's layout is expected to conclude in 2027. Earlier, it was estimated that the work would be completed in 2025.
The ongoing work on the NS square has been turned into a large construction site in the area known as The Float at Marina Bay. Previously, this section was open in Formula 1 where cars raced through the complex, turning right off Raffles before passing in front of the grandstand and underneath it, overlooking the water.

The new layout of the Marina Bay Circuit is expected to remain this way until the construction work on the NS Square is concluded. The year of completion, originally set for 2025, had already been pushed to 2026.
However, the project has received a further setback after the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of National Development announced a further delay last week, revealing that the construction work won't be completed until 2027.
Race organizers last year announced an extension of the contract with Formula 1 that lasts until 2028 as it remains a popular venue for F1 fans, especially after considering last year's record attendance of 302,000 people over the three-day period. Thus, the addition of new grandstands this year to accommodate a larger crowd.
However, there has been a controversy as Singapore GP boss Ong Beng Seng has attracted an anti-corruption investigation upon himself due to his links with Transport Minister S Iswaran. An arrest warrant was issued against Ong in July.
