F1 News: Two Drivers Narrowly Escape Accident In Tight Canadian Pit Lane

At the Canadian Grand Prix, in the midst of the second free practice session, an alarming near miss took place in the pit lane. The tension ran high as Haas driver Kevin Magnussen and AlphaTauri's Nyck de Vries almost collided.
This close encounter occurred when Magnussen was steering his VF-23 into his pit box just as AlphaTauri's de Vries was being released from the Italian team's pit box, right next to that of the American team's. As the cars almost clashed, someone working on the pits had to jump out of the way to avoid getting hit.
Kevin Magnussen couldn't hide his annoyance over the incident, and his frustration was palpable over the radio. Responding to his race engineer's query about the car he narrowly missed, Magnussen confirmed it was indeed the AlphaTauri.

Nyck de Vries, reflecting on the dicey incident, admitted, "That was tricky," acknowledging the potential danger of such close calls.
David Croft, providing commentary during the race for Sky Sports F1, offered an insight, suggesting that the pit lane in Montreal could be too narrow, compelling drivers to deal with close quarters during their pit stops.
Despite this incident, Kevin Magnussen clinched the 12th spot in the FP2 session, trailing session leader Lewis Hamilton by only 0.826 seconds. On the other hand, de Vries ended up in the 16th position, just behind his AlphaTauri teammate, Yuki Tsunoda.
Today, after FP3, Magnussen finished P4 on the timesheet after a wet practice session on the Saturday, with de Vries coming close to the bottom in P16.
No further action was taken.
