Oleksander Partyshev, the 17-year-old FRECA racer, has announced his sudden retirement from the world of motorsport, indicating that the recent tragic loss of Dilano van ‘t Hoff significantly influenced his decision.

Earlier in July, Partyshev participated in the FRECA event at Spa-Francorchamps which sadly saw Van ‘t Hoff involved in a fatal crash. He withdrew from the race after the Dutch driver was hit by another car as spray reduced the visibility to almost nothing. Van ‘t Hoff funeral was earlier this week, with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem attending the service and giving an emotional speech.

“To the Van ‘t Hoff family, we offer our deepest sympathies and stand beside you during this challenging period,” he voiced.

“May your shared memories with Dilano offer comfort and fortitude in the coming days. Dilano van ‘t Hoff was a true symbol of the exceptional strength in the upcoming generation of motorsport.

“Rest in peace, Dilano, your spirit will eternally be a part of the FIA family.

“Today, we gather here to pay our respects to Dilano van ‘t Hoff, a gifted young driver who has left a lasting impression on our hearts and the world of sport.

“So, it's not just a goodbye... as I've mentioned, I’ve lived through this, so I find myself at a loss for words. Primarily, I am here as a father, not as a sportsman.

“He will be remembered, and I again would express gratitude to the family. May God be with you and may his soul rest in peace. Thank you.”

Partyshev, following this, revealed his immediate retirement on social media.

“I must regretfully inform you that I am ending my driving career,” he wrote.

“The decision has been a difficult one, representing a crucial, melancholic transition in my life. However, recent events, particularly the tragic loss of my close friend Dilano Van’t Hoff, have pushed me towards this response.”

In his farewell post, Partyshev expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him.

“As I close this chapter of my life, I find comfort in the fact that a deserving candidate, Ivan Klymenko, will take over and finish the remaining season in my place. I am truly excited for Ivan and wish him the absolute best as he commences this new phase in his racing career,” he added.

“In conclusion, I wish to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has shaped my journey as a driver. Y

"Your support, contributions, and steadfast belief in me have made a lasting impact on my life. Although my days as a racing driver are concluding, I will always treasure the memories and experiences I have acquired.

"Thank you, wholeheartedly. R.I.P Dilano.”
