Alfa Romeo driver Zhou Guanyu will be starting the Singapore Grand Prix from the pit lane.

The Chinese driver qualified in nineteenth position for the race ahead of just Lance Stroll. However, due to the latter withdrawing from the race due to the damage sustained to his AMR23 during his horrific crash in Q1 and the after-effects of the impact, Guanyu would have been starting from the back of the grid anyway.

The Alfa Romeo team made the decision to make changes to the power unit as well as alterations to the set-up outside of parc ferme conditions, leaving them taking a penalty to start in the pit lane.

Guanyu's teammate Valtteri Bottas will be starting the race at the Marina Bay Circuit from sixteenth position, so the team will have to fight for a chance of points today.

Carlos Sainz will be starting from pole position followed by George Russell and Charles Leclerc who will be starting from second and third position, respectively.

Red Bull also has an uphill battle on their hands as both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were eliminated in Q2 leaving them starting from eleventh and thirteenth position, respectively.
