The first day of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend has come to a close with Charles Leclerc taking pole position for the race on Sunday after Max Verstappen was given a five-place grid penalty.

On top of the on-track action, 'silly season' has continued off-track with Alpine confirming team principal Otmar Szafnauer will be leaving after the weekend, as well as their sporting director Alan Permane. Williams has also announced their new technical director, which is a huge name from Alpine, and the drivers have been speaking about the Spa-Francorchamps circuit's safety in extreme weather conditions.
